This vibrant red spiny oyster shell necklace is handmade by a Navajo artist in New Mexico.   Spiny Oyster is a shell primarily found in the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez, off the coast of Baja California. Indian craftspeople began using the stunning shell in their jewelry making after seeing the vibrant colors available.  This 43"long necklace is finished with pen shell heishi between the disks of spiny oyster and finished with a sterling silver lobster clasp.
